The Thurgoona Veterans (formed in 1991 and known as the Murray Greys) play every Tuesday and Thursday. The competitions are open to all veteran golfers with a GA handicap, 55 years and over for men and 50 years and over for women. Depending upon numbers, generally there will be four grades (A, B & C for men and W for women). Currently there are over 140 veteran golfers with numbers constantly growing.
On Tuesday and Thursday mornings it is a shotgun start, and then everyone enjoys presentations in the clubhouse afterwards, making it an extremely social and fun day. Tuesday competitions are generally stroke or Stableford events, while Thursday competitions are based around team games such as Ambrose, Texas Scramble or 4BBB and so on.
Visitors are always welcome, and bookings need to be made through the Pro Shop by calling (02) 6043 1902. The earlier you book the better! The fields are usually over 100 making for a good competition.
